Outstanding paper by an emerging scholar award at the DH2026 conference
Congratulations to Rowan Hall Maudslay, CultureLab Junior Chair of Excellence, who was awarded the 2026 Paul Fortier Prize at the annual Digital Humanities conference (DH2026) for his paper "Decoding Tupaia's Chart: A 250-Year-Old Mystery Holding the Secret of Pre-Contract Polynesian Sea Networks"!
Since 2010, the Paul Fortier prize has been given each year by the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) to recognise the best paper presented by an early scholar at the Digital Humanities Conference. Two other CultureLab members have previously been awarded this prize: Jean-Baptiste Camps in 2019 and Suzanne Mpouli in 2016.
